Terra L. Dourlain, 49, formerly of McMurray, Pa., and a 1985 graduate of Peters Twp. High School, Pa., and a longterm resident and valued community member of Jamestown, N.Y., passed away suddenly on Dece. 25, 2016.

Terra is survived by her mother, Betty Dourlain of McMurray, Pa.; and her father, Robert Dourlain of Carnegie, Pa.; a sister, Carrie Buchanan of Wooster, OH; and a brother, Brian Dourlain of Shaler, Pa.; as well as two nieces and four nephews. Terra will also be remembered dearly by her family and friends and has left too soon for her closest friends; Sherry, Sue, Pat, and her special friend Anne as well as her treasured pets Zachary, Piglet, and Daisy.

Terra will be remembered for being a 5-foot-tall ball of fire, most known for being tenacious and unrelenting in all that she set out to do.

Terra was a scholar, athlete, cancer survivor at age 21, published author, eloquent writer, and used those skills as an entrepreneur and leader. In recent years Terra has worked tirelessly to mentor others, and help build the 2nd Chances Thrift Store as well as the Chautauqua County Humane Society. Terra has always shared her love for animals with her mother and had found her “calling” as she made a difference for these animals through her work at 2nd Chances, through her fundraising, by building partnerships with area businesses. Terra helped people in the area by partnering her work at 2nd Chances with BOCES and has helped many to gain the skills needed to enter the workforce and support a family. Through these endeavors she has touched the life of many as a mentor, friend, and as an inspiration in the changes she had brought to the Jamestown area.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, at noon in the Lind Funeral Home.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until noon Saturday prior to the service in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Chautauqua County Humane Society in her honor. Donations can be mailed to The Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701 or online at www.spcapets.com/donate.
