For The Love of Buddy

On August 22nd, 2017 Americans were in awe of a rare peek at a solar eclipse.

While it didn’t make national news headlines, on that same day, a 40 pound, mixed breed dog named Buddy walked through the doors of the Chautauqua County Humane Society (CCHS).  Buddy has been awaiting his adoptive family ever since, over four hundred and fifty days.

Why has this great little dog been at CCHS for so long?   It might be his quirky personality.  He is not fond of sharing, but Danny Reynolds and the Behavior staff at CCHS have worked on that.  Reynolds says “He has been taught the trade command, which is to give up what he has for a treat in his person’s hand.”  Buddy even knows to wait to go to his food bowl until he is told it is OK.   He is a really playful boy who loves to play fetch.  In Buddy’s world there is only room for one animal, and that’s Buddy.

During our Season of Hope adoption drive we invite you to stop by the Chautauqua County Humane Society and meet Buddy.  Buddy is looking to you this holiday season with the hope of going home.
