CCHS Thankful Animals

Each November we take time to be thankful for all that we have.  The animals that rely on the Chautauqua County Humane Society (CCHS) are so grateful to have such a loving, caring, and supportive community. Whether through adoption, volunteering, or financial support, the animals are well cared for.  These animals, your future pets, are truly thankful.

As November 27th, Giving Tuesday approaches there are a number of ways you can further help the animals at CCHS.

You can visit the Chautauqua Regional Community Foundation website and participate in the #GiveThanks campaign that is active until Monday, November 19th. Five local non-profits will receive one thousand dollar grants through this campaign. Simply visit crcfonline.org, choose the Chautauqua County Humane Society, and tell them why you like what we're doing.

As 2019 approaches there is the option of looking at your calendar to see when might be a good time to volunteer.  Volunteering has so many positive effects on your own life, and the lives of the animals that will benefit from your donation of time.  Just an hour or two a week can make such an impact on so many lives. Whether it be dog walking, cat socializing, or if you have allergies, or are nervous about becoming to attached to the animals, our 2nd Chances Thrift Store is always an option.

And finally, there is #GivingTuesday, November 27th. In its seventh year, #GivingTuesday has become a movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy.  The animals at CCHS are thankful for your past and future support.  So please consider a donation on #Giving Tuesday.

How can animals be thankful?

We encourage you to visit the Chautauqua County Humane Society at 2285 Strunk Road in Jamestown.  See for yourself how positive and energetic the dogs are when you walk by there kennels.  Look into Whiskerville, and the Cat Colonies to see how relaxed an atmosphere when it is home to that many cats. Stop by whether it's just to see where your donation is going, to see if you want to donate your time, or because you are looking to add some love to your home.

Best wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving from everyone at the Chautauqua County Humane Society.
